Sunday 8th Nov
Following last week's no wind/can't see the F mark fog it was great to see over 30 boats on the water for the first racing of the 2015/16 Winter Series. The gale of the previous day had moderated to provide some sparkling sailing and several decided to get their winter capsising in early, whilst the water was still warm(ish).
This winter we'll be running a daily "Boss of The Barn" result, being the best overall in all the races in the day with no discards. This week Gareth Griffiths wins with consistent top of fleet results. Behind Gareth positions are complicated by some not completing all races, thus putting them out of contention for the day overall but Peter Curtis wins on tie break from Andy Barnett courtesy of his 1st place in the last race.
A warm welcome to our seasonal members, taking advantage of our incredibly reasonable Winter membership rates.
Also great to see was the newly refurbished Clubhouse, looking brighter and much more welcoming than before, as well as better laid out for all the Club activities (racing, training, feeding, drinking). With just a few snagging tweaks to be done we should be all ready for a formal re-opening on 20th Dec at the annual pre-Xmas mulled wine/parties.
