Entrants participate entirely at their own risk. The training organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, howsoever caused, to the owner/competitor, as a result of him/her taking part in this event.
The safety of a boat and her entire management, including checking insurance (up to minimum value of £2,000,000 for third party cover) is valid, shall be the sole responsibility of the owner / helm sailing the boat, who shall ensure that the boat is fully found, thoroughly seaworthy and is helmed and crewed by crew sufficient in experience and physical fitness to face bad weather. The owner / helm shall be satisfied as to the soundness of the hull, spars, rigging, sails and all gear, and their suitability for the event and bad weather. In particular the owner / helm shall ensure that rudder, centreboard and mast cannot become detached from the hull while on the water. The owner / helm and crew shall ensure that his / her buoyancy aid and protective clothing is properly maintained, of correct size, and suitable for the purpose.
