Powerboat Assessments

< Back
  • Can you do this in a powerboat?

The Club runs very successful courses that provide the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat safely and effectively and to enable members to achieve the RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification. The next of these courses will run on the weekend of 2nd/3rd November.

In the meantime, there are a number of members who, whilst having experience in handling a powerboat, do not have the RYA qualification. It is becoming increasingly important for the Club that we identify these members and assess their competence. To this end Dave Nunn will be running 4 assessment/refresher sessions over the weekend of 10th/11th August with the aim of issuing the RYA Powerboat Level 2 to those of suitable ability.

This is in effect the opportunity for members of suitable experience and competence in powerboat handling to get the RYA Powerboat Level 2 without undertaking the full 2 day course (and at a much reduced cost of £10). We urge any member with informal powerboat experience to sign up for one of the sessions on the forms in the clubhouse, or by contacting Dave Nunn.
