Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times by any person on the water and by children inside the perimeter fence.

At advertised club sailing times, no sailing until the green flag is flying.

Outside of advertised sailing times where no manned resue boat is available there must be at least two boats sailing and manned by experienced helms.

It is the responsibility of members wishing to sail to decide whether it is safe for them to do so at all times, even when the green flag is flying.

Children are always welcome, but under-16s must be supervised at all times by an adult who takes responsibility for their safety and behaviour.

The reservoir is not a swimming pool - no-one should be in the water unless recovering a capsize. Parents should ensure that children are aware of this, and that the pontoons are not jumping or diving platforms. The pontoon moorings are underwater obstructions.

The winch and its load may only be operated by those aged 18 or over. Please assist those with junior crews. If you don't know how to use the winch, please ask.

Wetsuits or drysuits compulsory for sailors Nov 1st - March 31st, and all year for windsurfers.

All boats at the club must be insured in accordance with the byelaws.

Rescue boats - only those authorised by the Duty Officer may be in charge of a resucue boat, unless under formal instruction. Juniors aged 16 and over with a RYA PB2 certificate may drive. Juniors under 16 may drive under the supervison of an adult holding a RYA PB2 qualification.
