    Weather and Wind

Try and look at the wind and weather during the week. Work out how strong the wind is, and what direction its coming from (not easy if you live in the middle of the city!)

These are the "points of sailing" - the names for the different angles that you can sail the boat at relative to the wind. The sooner you can be reasonable comfortable with them the better, but its not as difficult to remeber as you might think. You run away from the wind, you are close hauled when you've pulled the sails in as hard as you can, and everything inbetween is a reach, close to the wind moving to broad away from it.
