Dear members
Following this week's announcement on tightening of restrictions to manage the increase in Coronavirus cases in England I would like to inform you of the actions the club is taking to comply with the new laws that will be in place on Monday.
We have followed the RYA advice published on their website and I have attended a RYA webinar to see how other clubs are dealing with the changes.
We will continue to keep the sailing club open with the same levels of access to the water that we have been enjoying over the last month or so, to summarise this is:
However, we have put some limitations on planned open meetings so as to limit the number of visitors on our site to a number that we can manage in groups of 6 and maintain social distancing. Entries must be made in advance via our online booking system and we will require anyone attending these organised events to provide their contact details for the Government's track and trace scheme.
Our plans to reopen the clubhouse have temporarily been put on hold. We will review this as the weather starts to become colder/wetter and once we understand how/if we could open the clubhouse and achieve the current Government requirements.
Finally, as the areas on the bank are quite narrow I would ask all members to keep to 2m social distancing when on the shore, wash your hands regularly at the washing stations provided or use the hand sanitisers.
