topper winter open 2020

We're all looking forward to the Topper Open
We will be running the Main Events (full rig and 4.2)
The Regatta for sailors new to racing has been cancelled as it's going to be a little too windy

Another fun Topper event is looming Island Barn's famous

We hope lots of our Island Barn sailors will attend - it's designed for all levels with a:

  • regatta fleet for newcomers to racing,
  • 4.2 fleet for lighter sailors
  • 5.3 fleet for the more experienced.
  • Hot food, cake and lots of prizes

REGISTRATION

You can register your child for this event by  clicking this registration link  and filling in the form found on the 'Opens' section of our membership website.

Registration is not compulsory and you don't need to pay anything yet. It's just a way of saving time on the day and helping us gauge the likely numbers.

We'll be making the formal entries, and taking payment, on the morning of Saturday February 1.

ROTA

As usual we are also dependent on volunteers to help run the day so we've set up a rota where parents & carers can volunteer. We'll need help with:

  1. Admin (taking entries) and catering
  2. Race Assistants (who will cover car park & winches at start of day)
  3. Safety Officer + rescur boat helms & crew (who must wear wet or drysuits)

Please  CLICK ON THIS ROTA LINK  which will take you to the rota and add your name wherever you can help.

Mike Jones will be the race officer so please CC all correspondence to him. Please remember that buoyancy aids must be worn on the lower bank and pontoons and anyone going afloat in any vessel must wear a wetsuit or drysuit. Thanks in advance for your help.
