Well Done To IBRSC's young sailors at the 2017 RYA 31st Eric Twiname Championships

    With an amazing contribution from Island Barn's young sailors the South East Zone were victorious at the 2017 RYA 31st Eric Twiname Championships  held at Rutland sailing club over the 6-7 May.   The South East Zone were crowned overall Eric Twiname Champions as well as winners of the Eric Twiname Dinghy Trophy after winning in the Optimist and Topper classes.

    In the Feva Class Ching Wong and Elinor Oleary put in an amazing performance to finish 2nd overall.  James Deaton led the way for IBRSC with another 2nd place, this time in the Topper Class.  Well done to Tom Williamson (14th) and Maisie Bristow (29th) for thier strong performances in the topper class.  In the Laser 4.2 the Coco Barratt continued her step up from the Topper to the Laser class with a solid performance finishing 30th.

    The Eric Twiname Trust is lead sponsor for the RYA regional zone squad national event for Juniors (16-year-olds; pre Youth).  It is one of the largest sailing events in the calendar for regional teams in Optimists, Toppers, RS Fevas and 4 classes of Bic Techno Windsurfers.
