Tuesday Trysail Schedule and Calendar Print E-mail

The IBRSC Tuesday Trysil runs every year from early May until August.  If you want to learn to sail, don't leave it until July - come along early in the season! You don't have to attend every session, but obviously you'll learn more if you attend regularly. Sessions also repeated and provide items for non-beginners. We are open on each of these evenings, regardless of weather; we've got indoor stuff to keep you amused if it is raining vertically or too windy. We are flexible so if there's something particular you want to learn, just ask.

See the training home page for information on what to bring. Please don't bring pets, excessive valuables or non-member children; the Trysail does not have sufficient supervision to train juniors (we run a Sunday Sailing School for Juniors wishing to learn to sail)

Evening Format

We appreciate that people have to come from work, but it really does help if we're ready to start for 7pm, particularly later in the season when the nights start drawing in. Thanks.

6:15 pm - club opens for arrival and rigging up

6:45 pm - sign in and get changed, safety briefing for new arrivals

7:00 pm - one group goes sailing, the other attends tonight's 'lesson'

8:15 pm (or earlier on shorter evenings) - groups change over

sunset or before, depending on weather - recall signal, boats put away (all hands on deck please)

9:45 pm - post sailing debrief once everything is away and people have showered and changed

9:50 pm - chat and drinks

10:30 pm approx - club closes

Every year we round off the Trysail with a fun Race Night!

Once you've spent all summer honing your sailing skills, what better way to put them into practice than in a race? Don't worry it's never very serious, well not at all really and you can always team up with one of the club members in their boats if you don't want to helm yourself.

There are always prizes on the race night!
