 One of the most successful classes of modern times, the RS200 has developed a huge following and competitive fleets at club, circuit and championship level. Responding to finesse rather than physique, the RS200 allows parents, youngsters, couples and friends to share the excitement of asymmetric sailboat racing.

Over the last few seasons Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club has been proud to host the South East Area Series (SEAS) Open Race Event.  The events have been well attended with on average 25 boats and crews sailing.  The SEAS consists of eight meetings at a variety of venues through South Eastern England taking in reservoir, gravel pit, estuary and open sea sailing. All are welcome, meetings usual attract 20-30 boats with crews of a wide range of ability and racing experience and a SEAS meeting is an ideal way to sample racing your RS200 in a reasonably sized fleet. RS 200 Winter Open Day Series

During the winter of 2009 Island Barn Reservoir SC successfully tried a monthly Open Series for RS200s on the second Sunday of each month.  Each winter the club now invites all RS200 sailors to participate in a monthly winter Open starting November through to March.

This event addressed the age-old problem of one-designs wishing to support their club series but also race in larger numbers of same type on a regular basis. Given the success of the series the club has adopted a regular RS200 Series held once a month through the summer and winter sailing programmes.
