Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club is run by its members for the benefit of its members.
The Club runs a large variety of competitive and non-competitve sailing events for members all year round on Sundays, Tuesday evenings , Wednesday evenings and Saturdays during the summer. Racing is competitive but not aggressive and members, even novices, are encouraged to take part. Club members may sail whenever they wish, although on Open days sailing is restricted to racing in specified classes.
The Club has several boats, which members may use. Training (Try Sail) is organised by the Sailing Committee during the summer months, usually on Tuesday evenings and youth training on Sunday afternoons.

In addition to loads of sailing at our excellent club, members also get:
- Quarterly club newsletter, one issue of which is the club handbook
- Discounts at certain suppliers
- Club clothing at low prices
- The club social calendar
- Privileges to bring guests sailing up to six times a year, and social guests any time
- Our excellent cheap bar
- Use of the clubhouse as a venue for their own events, for a small fee
